Hello to our new students

October 5, 2026, marked the first day of Orientation Week, which began with a welcome for the new students on campus in Stendal. Through a series of icebreaker games, the freshmen were able to strike up conversations with one another right away and get to know each other. Afterwards, everyone headed to the Audimax together.
There, the professors were already waiting to welcome the new students. The dean of the Department of Business and Management, Prof. Dr. Fabian Behrendt, welcomed the first-year students. During "Meet the Prof" session, our faculty members shared some personal insights. Professor Gretchen Schaupp had a special tip for the freshmen: "When making decisions, listen to your values-then you'll often be on the right track." After a short break, the event continued with the welcome ceremony at the Altmark Theater.
There, the students received their freshman goodie bags before being officially welcomed by the president, Prof. Dr. Susanne Borkowski. The Altmark Theater had also prepared a surprise: With a five-minute excerpt from a play, the students got a first glimpse into the city's cultural offerings. At the same time, they learned how to use their "Culture Euro." To wrap up the day, everyone headed to Sperlingsberg together. Over delicious food and refreshing drinks, everyone was able to wind down and enjoy the end of the day.
