Project 'h2d2 - didaktisch und digital kompetent Lehren und Lernen'

The picture shows the team of h2d2.

The central element of the project 'h2d2 – didaktisch und digital kompetent Lehren und Lernen' at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences was the piloting, evaluation, and further development of innovative (digital) concepts for designing teaching and learning in ways that effectively support student learning.

Across four teaching and learning labs, topic-specific challenges were addressed and innovative approaches to blended, hybrid, and online teaching were developed, tested, and academically evaluated. Through university-wide surveys, dialogue within the newly established 'Hochschulforum', and feedback loops with existing committees, the project also contributed to shaping a university-wide vision of Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences as a blended university.

Retrospective: The teaching and learning labs in the h2d2 project

The teaching and learning labs formed the central component of the h2d2 project. Within these labs, discipline-specific and university-wide challenges were addressed, innovative teaching and learning formats were designed and practically implemented, and systematically reflected upon in the interest of sustainable quality development.

Mathematics and Statistics Lab (MaSta-Lab)

The aim of the MaSta-Lab was to strengthen foundational mathematics education as well as training in quantitative methods and statistics at h2.

Digital media, tutorial support, and problem-based learning were strategically employed to consolidate core content, deepen practical application, and provide individualized guidance to students during their self-study phases.

During the project period, the 'Mathe-Lern-Zentrum' was supervised by the MaSta-Lab. It offered support with mathematics-related questions both on campus and in digital formats.

In addition, an extensive collection of digital practice exercises was developed based on the STACK system.
