MC4LSA – Career readiness through microcredentials in Saxony-Anhalt

A modern, abstract representation of interconnected universities, symbolised by stylised buildings connected by glowing paths. In between are people from a wide variety of backgrounds, oriented towards modular building blocks – like small puzzle pieces or tiles that can be individually assembled. Each building block symbolises a learning module (microcredential). In the background, a digital platform serves as an abstract interface, depicted as transparent and interconnected. The atmosphere is open, forward-looking and cooperative – clear lines, friendly colours, dynamic composition.

Six universities, one goal! In collaboration with the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences, the Harz University of Applied Sciences, the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, we are developing a flexible, cross-university module system based on microcredentials – compact, clearly structured learning units with recognised qualifications. The demand for skilled workers in our wonderful federal state is a great incentive for us.

The project focuses on three main areas:

  • Strengthening key competencies: The development of microcredentials is being driven forward, in particular with a view to acquiring key competencies.
  • Enabling recognition: By establishing quality standards, microcredentials will be comparable and creditable statewide from the outset – both in higher education and on the labour market.
  • Digital networking: The implementation of a central platform for the transparent presentation, administration and recognition of microcredentials will enable students to easily select suitable offers – with administrative tasks running service-oriented in the background.

As the network leader, Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences is responsible for the content and strategic management of the joint project and ensures targeted cooperation and a sustainable impact of the project.
