re-registration period for the winter semester 2026: 07.07. - 30.07.2026

By re-registering you declare that you wish to continue your studies in the forthcoming semester. This is generally declared by the timely payment of the semester fee (direct debit).

Once the money has reached our account you will be re-registered and you will then have access to the self-service functions for printing out your enrolment and BAföG certificates.

Payment and printing of certificates

Please make sure you read the following instructions carefully before starting the re-registration process.

The semester fee is paid by direct debit. This way you will be re-registered immediately and in just a few minutes will have access to the self-service functions for printing out your enrolment and BAföG certificates.

Please note that you must reissue the direct debit authorisation every semester.

Your account details are not saved, merely used for the one-off direct debit transfer.

Please follow these steps when re-registering by direct debit:

Via "Mein Studium" → "Studienservice" → "Rückmelden" (top left) you can re-register for the upcoming semester during the re-registration period by direct debit. Please follow the instructions provided by the system and re-register at the end. The corresponding button for this will be displayed in the procedure. You can recognise a successful re-registration by the dark blue bar at the end of the procedure - the semester for which you have re-registered is displayed there.

Please carefully check your details, as in the event of your direct debit payment being returned, you will incur additional bank charges and your re-registration for the summer semester will be cancelled. There may also be re-registration reminder charges to pay.

Once you have re-registered, your student and university library card including semester ticket will be available to you via the UniNow app.

Your digital student ID card will be made available to you via the UniNow app. You can find all the information about the UniNow app here.

Paying the semester fee by bank transfer

Payment by direct debit is our preferred method of payment since you will be re-registered immediately once the payment has been released. However, should it not be possible to set up a direct debit in exceptional circumstances, you may also pay your semester fee by bank transfer.

Please note that when re-registering by bank transfer, the money may take up to 3 days to reach our account. You will only be re-registered after the transfer has arrived in our account. Please make sure that you arrange the transfer a few days before the re-registration period expires to ensure that you are re-registered in good time.

Important note about the reason for transfer: The reason for transfer must be entered in the transfer form following the pattern given exactly:
Example reason for transfer: 20262SBSI30001234 Doe, Jane

After the year (2026), enter a 1 for the summer semester and a 2 for the winter semester. Next is the identifier “SBSI” and the enrolment number without spaces. Your last and first names can then be entered as usual with spaces.

Refund of the semester fee

The amount of the fee that can be refunded depends on the date on which you were ex-matriculated. Please therefore note the individual cases and deadlines in following.

Case 1: The act of ex-matriculation is completed by September 24^th (winter semester) or by March 24^th (summer semester) - A refund of the entire semester fee is possible

The reimbursements of the Deutschlandsemesterticket as well as the student union fee and the student body fee take place in two different steps.

At first, you must apply for de-registration on the Online Campus by September 15^th or March 15^th (cut-off-date). Please note that you do not need to apply for de-registration if you pass or fail your studies.

The reimbursement of the Deutschlandsemesterticket will be made by the end of October or April at the latest to the account from which the semester fee was paid.

Second, for the reimbursement of the student union fee and the student body fee, please submit the application for reimbursement (Antrag auf Rückerstattung des Semesterbeitrags) by October 31^st or April 30^th to the Studentenwerk Magdeburg by post, in person or at refund@studentenwerk-magdeburg@h2.de. The student union fee and the student body fee will be refunded in the course of the semester for which the amounts were paid.

Case 2: The act of ex-matriculation is completed from September 25^th (winter semester) or by March 25^th (summer semester) - A refund of some parts of the semester fee is possible only

Reimbursement of the Deutschlandsemesterticket is no longer possible after exmatriculation from September 25^th or March 25^th onwards. Please activate your Deutschlandsemesterticket before submitting your application for ex-matriculation.

For the reimbursement of the student union fee and the student body fee, please submit the application for reimbursement (Antrag auf Rückerstattung des Semesterbeitrags), by October 31^th or April 30^th to the Studentenwerk Magdeburg by post, in person or at refund@studentenwerk-magdeburg.de. The student union fee and the student body fee will be refunded in the course of the semester for which the amounts were paid.

Reimbursement of the semester fee without re-registration

If you have paid the semester fee or parts of it but have not been re-registered for various reasons, the amount will be refunded automatically during the semester for which it was paid.

Withdrawal from enrollment

After first enrolment at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, enrolment can be revoked by September 30^th for winter semester or March 31^st for the winter semester upon written application. Please note: This does not apply to a re-registration at Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.

The amount that can be refunded to you depends on the date which your application for withdrawal from enrolment is received in full by the Enrolment Office of Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. If sent by post, the date of receipt of the post is always decisive; if sent by e-mail, the date of receipt of the e-mail is decisive.

If the application for withdrawal from enrollment is received by September 20^th in case of enrolment for the winter semester or by March 20^thin case of enrollment for the summer semester, a full refund of the semester fee paid is possible.

If an application is submitted between September 20^th/March 20^th and September 30^th/March 31^st only the student union fee and the fee for the student body of Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences can be reimbursed. The application for withdrawal from enrolment must also be submitted here. A refund of the fee for the Deutschlandsemesterticket is no longer possible, but the ticket can still be used for the entire semester, provided that the Deutschlandsemesterticket is activated before the application for withdrawal from enrolment is submitted. Once your application has been processed, your data will be deleted, and it will no longer be possible to activate the Deutschlandsemesterticket.
