Please note that activation of the Deutschlandsemesterticket for the winter semester | summer semester is only possible starting from 25.09. | 25.03.

The University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal does not automatically transmit any data to MVB or MVB's service provider. If you would like to use the Deutschlandsemesterticket, please instruct the University of Magdeburg-Stendal to pass on data to the provider via this registration form.

When using the university's single sign-on procedure, you will be informed separately of the type of data passed on and its purpose. Your personal data will only be transmitted to the provider after you have consented.

The Deutschlandsemesterticket is available to you via the "MVB app". In order to access it, you need to have the latest version of the app installed on your smartphone and have created an account there.

If you want to access the Deutschlandsemesterticket in the "MVB app", you must have re-registered for the semester for which the Deutschlandsemesterticket is to be valid by paying the semester fee to Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences on time. The payment receipt must be listed in the university's master data.

The Deutschlandsemesterticket is only valid in combination with a valid photo ID (ID or passport).

The Deutschlandsemesterticket for students at the University of Magdeburg-Stendal was realized through an agreement between the Studentenwerk Magdeburg and the Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe (MVB).

You must always present your valid Deutschlandsemesterticket using a smartphone in combination with an official photo ID.

The student ID card is still available via the UniNow app.

Based on a vote among students at the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal, the majority voted in favor of introducing the Deutschlandsemesterticket.

The Deutschlandsemesterticket is available starting from summer semester 2025 and is valid from the first day of the respective semester (01.10. winter semester | 01.04. summer semester) for which the semester fee has been paid. It is valid until the last day of the respective semester (31.03. winter semester | 30.09. summer semester).

If you decide to exmatriculate during the course of the semester, you can still use the Deutschlandsemesterticket until the end of the semester.

Caution! This is only possible if the ticket was activated before you exmatriculated.

Re-registration/matriculation is only possible if the full semester fee has been paid.

It is not possible to convert the Deutschlandticket into the Deutschlandsemesterticket.

Please cancel your Deutschlandticket within the deadline in accordance with the applicable regulations and activate your Deutschlandsemesterticket in the "MVB app".

Unfortunately, it is not possible to pay the semester fee in installments.

Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences does not offer financial support for students in financial need.

Semester abroad/entitlement to free transportation
If you spend a semester abroad during your studies, or are entitled to free transportation in accordance with §§ 145 bis 147 Sozialgesetzbuch IX, you can have the amount due for the Deutschlandsemesterticket reimbursed for this period.

To do so, the following documents must be submitted to the Studentenwerk Magdeburg (refund@studentenwerk-magdeburg.de) by 15.09. (winter semester) | 15.03. (summer semester):

• Request for refund
• Proof of stay abroad (e.g. proof of internship, documents for the Erasmus semester, etc.) or proof of exemption from transportation (official ID, supplementary sheet and stamp)
• Proof of payment of the semester fee
• Valid matriculation certificate

Please note that the fee will only be refunded during the semester for which the application was submitted.

Exmatriculation
If you end your studies during the semester, a refund is not possible in accordance with § 5 Abs. 1 of the Studentenwerk Magdeburg fee regulations.

Re-registration/Matriculation
If you have already paid the fee for the coming semester but will not be studying that semester, the entire semester fee and the Deutschlandsemesterticket can be refunded upon request.

In order to receive a refund, the application for exmatriculation/withdrawal of matriculation (at the start of studies) must be submitted by 15.09. (winter semester) | 15.03. (summer semester) completed in full (including the discharge notes) to the Service Department for Studies and International Affairs

After this deadline, a refund can only be granted if you withdraw in person by 24.09. (for the winter semester) / 24.03. (for the summer semester) during the office hours of the Registrar's Office (House 2, Room 0.08 in Magdeburg or House 2, Room 2.23 in Stendal). Please note the respective office hours.

After this point, a refund of the Deutschlandsemesterticket can no longer be guaranteed.

The refund for the Deutschlandsemesterticket will be issued to the account from which the semester fee was paid when you re-registered.

Reimbursement of the Studentenwerk fee and the student body fee must still be applied for by 31.10./30.04. at Studentenwerk Magdeburg. Further information on this can be found here.

The use of the "MVB app" and the Deutschlandsemesterticket is still possible after re-downloading the app on a new device, as long as you are enrolled for the semester in question.

The smartphone must be connected to the Internet once at the beginning of each month in order to download the ticket. Once you have done this, you can retrieve your Deutschlandsemesterticket in offline mode.

When the ticket is called up, an initial message appears stating that there is no internet connection, however the ticket will still be displayed.

Please note that an automatic logout will take place if you have not opened the “MVB app” for 30 days. However, the Deutschlandsemesterticket is only displayed when you are logged in. It is therefore advisable to open the app regularly so that you always have your Deutschlandsemesterticket to hand for ticket checks.
