International Study Programmes
Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences provides a large number of programmes with an international orientation. These include study programmes with an obligatory stay abroad and study programmes which can lead to a double degree, i.e. a degree is also awarded by the foreign partner university.
An optional stay abroad is possible as part of all other degree programmes. The International Office and the Departments will be glad to advise you about this.
By choosing an English-language degree programme, in addition to your university degree from the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences you will also acquire intercultural and language skills that will optimally prepare you for a job in an international company.
Currently the university offers the following study programmes that are taught in English:
Bachelor in Sustainable Resources, Engineering and Management (StREaM)
StREaM is an interdisciplinary, international Bachelor’s programme that combines engineering and economics, with a special focus on sustainability as an overlapping theme. The university welcomed the first students in this programme in the summer semester of 2022.
Master in Water Engineering
This degree course taught in English is offered in cooperation with the Universidad de La Coruña, Spain.The degree programme includes a compulsory stay abroad in Spain during the winter semester.
Double Degree Programmes
On a course that includes a double degree programme, in addition to your university degree from the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences you will gain a degree from a foreign partner university at the same time.
Currently the University offers the following study programmes which can lead to a double degree:
European Master in Sign Language Interpreting (EUMASLI)
EUMASLI is an innovative European Master’s programme in sign language interpreting, which has been developed by three universities in Germany, Finland and Great Britain with EU Erasmus funding and offered jointly since January 2009. EUMASLI is a part-time continuing education degree programme. Fees are payable for this course of studies.
Programmes with integrated stay abroad
In all degree programmes, the university offers the opportunity to gain academic credits during an optional stay abroad.
On some Bachelor’s degree programmes at the university, a period abroad is stipulated as a mandatory component of the curriculum. This applies to the following programmes:

The deadlines for applications for a university place can vary greatly depending on the category of degree.
Distinctions are made between:
- courses of study without any admission restriction,
- restricted admission (NC) courses of study and
- courses of study requiring an aptitude test.
