On 14 November 2012, the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences received the Federal Foreign Office Prize for the excellent care for foreign students in Bonn. The award went to the initiative “Between Late Summer School and Tutorium Internationales – Welcome for Incoming”. The prize went equally to the University of Applied Sciences and to a student initiative in Regensburg and was endowed with 7.500 Euro each. In Magdeburg the money was passed on to the departments where the money was used directly for further improving the care of foreign students and for the mobility of outgoings. The initiative Late Summer School has become important international parts of the university life and contribute to the multicultural networking on campus. The prize is awarded annually for outstanding achievements and effective models in the care and advice of foreign students during their study or internship in Germany.
