PROMOS Scholarship - Funding of Foreign Visits

Through the PROMOS mobility programme, Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences facilitates shorter overseas visits (up to six months) using funds provided by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Through the scholarship, the university is seeking to increase the international mobility of students and support high quality projects abroad.

Notice on the restrictions of the PROMOS-programme due to corona pandemic

Please note that we are currently accepting and processing applications for the PROMOS programme as usual.

However, the grant for PROMOS funding is currently always subject to the proviso that circumstances permit the stay abroad. As this is a very dynamic situation, it is not possible to assess all circumstances in advance in the long term.

Possible factors in this regard are:

  • Restrictions on leaving Germany
  • Restrictions on entry into the host country
  • Travel warnings by the Federal Foreign Office (no stays in the areas for which a travel warning exists!)
  • Availability of the host institution for the stay in the desired period (some institutions decide whether to accept students or interns at short notice)
  • The intended project can only take place virtually and not in the host country

When planning and carrying out activiities abroad, students are required to continuously observe the travel and safety instructions and in articular the (partial) travel warnings issued by the Federal Foreign Office: https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/de/ReiseUndSicherheit (German)

Students are asked to register with the crisis prevention list of the Federal Foreign Office for the duration of their stay (electronic registration: "Elefand" https://elefand.diplo.de)

Further important information on safety precautions can be found at the following link: Information on general safety precautions for travelling abroad and staying abroad
