Regional University Advisory Board at the Stendal campus

The Regional University Advisory Board at the Stendal campus supports and accompanies the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal in its close connection to the Altmark region. As an advisory body, it brings together representatives from business, politics, administration, culture, and civil society for continuous, open exchange with the university.

The board’s work focuses on key future issues for the region: developing Stendal as a family-friendly city, addressing vacancy and structural change in the city center, the economic and social effects of major industrial settlements in the region, and the impact of international political developments—such as U.S. policy—on the economy, employment, and the Altmark’s attractiveness as a location.

The Regional University Advisory Board sees itself as a bridge between scientific analysis and regional practice. It identifies current challenges, contextualizes them, and develops recommendations for sustainable solutions, collaborations, and new forms of dialogue.

A particular focus is the annual Altmark Networking Conference, which is planned and supported by the board. This event represents the highlight of the year, bringing together actors from business, politics, science, and civil society across the Altmark region with the university.

Through its work, the Regional University Advisory Board helps strengthen the Stendal campus as a reliable, reflective, and future-oriented partner for the region.

The 2026 meetings of the Regional University Advisory Board will be guided by the principle of open dialogue. The specific themes for each meeting will be developed together with board members over the course of the year.
